This Post Card is from 1915.  It shows the Ontario Reformatory, Guelph, from the West Side of the Institution, where the apple orchards were once located.  Notice the first bridge built over the Speed River and notice the smoke stacks coming from the middle of the main institution.  Later, a second rail bridge was built South of this bridge to access the quarry.

This photo from the 20's or 30's.

It shows flower gardens along Victoria Road on the west side of the property.

This photo postcard is owned by a descendant of Assistant Superintendent Agnew (who was killed in 1921 at the O.R.  Notice in the photo, the re-location of the smoke stack to the powerhouse in the industrial area of the institution.  Also, notice the four-story building located beside main stores.  This four-story building either burned or was torn down many years ago.  This photo is post 1925, also notice the stacks of lumber in the foreground that were eventually made into furniture at the O.R. prison industries.

This photograph was taken by Pennsylvania farmers in 1925.  This is one of the O.R. original barns.  The Pennsylvania people came to Ontario to tour the prison model farm and the Ontario Agricultural College, now part of the University of Guelph.

This photograph is the Pennsylvania group that came to Ontario in 1925 to tour model farms.  This photograph was taken at the Ontario Agricultural College.
